| Overview
What is CPSH? CPSH means Community for Permanent Supported Housing. The mission of CPSH is to create collaborations among businesses, social organizations and all levels of government to establish safe, clean, enriched, cost effective housing options for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in North Texas.
CPSH
and North Texans who are concerned about housing would like to see an
approved and recognized Public/Private Partnership that would share the
cost of establishing housing. A significant portion of construction and
annual costs would be from: • private sources: capital campaigns, foundation grants, donations from citizens, and business revenue. • public sources: State and Federal programs for the disabled, and affordable housing programs.
CPSH
wants to bring resources (families people, land, property, builders,
service providers, government, etc.) to create more housing options. To
do this, CPSH has five teams of volunteers looking at five aspects of
the housing issue - Brandraising; Services; Laws, Acts, &
Regulations; Acquire Assets; Collaborations. The team charters are here.
The teams continue to look for more members as there is alot to do to
meet our mission. If you would like to join a team, please contact the team.
As
each team works to meet their charters, they share information across
teams. That information helps identify resources that can come together
to build a housing option. The Collaborations team brings these groups
together to form Community Teams. These teams create the actual
housing. CPSH contributes to this by bringing these groups together and
providing assesses (funding, property, etc.) to the project. Here is a
chart that explains this process.
