How did CPSH get started?

Robin LeoGrande, a parent of a young adult with Down syndrome, was interested in finding options for housing for her son in North Texas.  After researching options, and talking with other parents, she saw there were not enough options are available in the community.  She began researching how other communities solve this problem.  Irene Niemotka, the parent of an adult daughter, was also interested in living options and had been looking for an opportunity to bring change to the community.  The two mothers got together to form this organization.
