In April Shep Landy and CPSH held an open house at her home in McKinney.  Shep was awarded a Neighborhood Homes Project-based Voucher contract by the Dallas Housing Authority that will awarded her fair market rent when adults with IDD who receive SSI live in the home. which will allow 4 adults with IDD diagnoses and receiving SSI to live in this home.

The open house was well attended by families interested in this housing option, as well as service providers and others concerned about housing for this population.

Shep is talking with potential tenants. The home will not have live in support.

CPSH is looking for AttendantCare options so that adults who want to live independently have services to live safely, and be a good neighbor.  When these solutions are identified and CPSH has agreement from the Department of Aging and Disabilities (DADS) and Medicaid Managed Care (MMC) that services can be provided in these homes, CPSH will ask the Dallas Housing Authority to reissue the Request For Proposals for more neighborhood homes. CPSH is in active discussion with DADS and MMC.
