On Sunday, May 31, Parents met to discuss potential locations in the Plano/Richardson area for the first Project Independence Co-op in North Texas. The priority for this location is the safely of the residents. Amenities such as transportation, grocery shopping and entertainment are also necessary. Two promising locations were identified. Trips to these location are planned during June.
The future residents bowled while the parents met. As the parents observed their interactions one mentioned she could visualize them living near each other and relying on each other. Looking at them bowling from this perspective, Project Independence is a very promising solution to living away from home.
Any parent and future resident is invited to these events after the parent has attend a Project Independence Community Meeting. The next meeting is on June 28, 2015. More information is here.
