Texas Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Program Survey

There’s a new way for certain Texans with disabilities to have special savings accounts for disability-related expenses, without losing eligibility for Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid and certain other public benefits. It’s called the Texas Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Program.

The Texas Comptroller’s Office will administer the program through the Texas Prepaid Higher Education Tuition Board. We value your opinion as a partner in the disability community and need your help.

Our Texas ABLE survey will help us design the program and better understand how beneficiaries may use an ABLE account to save for disability-related expenses. We encourage you to take the survey and distribute it widely through your networks via email, social media and newsletters.

The deadline for completing the survey is Dec. 15, 2015. Responses to the survey will remain anonymous. Please respond to the survey only one time.

For the latest information about the Texas ABLE Program℠ and our survey, visit our website: TexasABLE.org. If you have any questions, contact the Comptroller’s office at 512-475-5331 or TexasABLE@cpa.texas.gov.

The federal ABLE Act was enacted in December 2014, and the Texas ABLE Program was signed into law in June 2015.
