IMPORTANT Free Service Offered
Public Information Officer David Tilley from Plano Police Department

Hello Plano neighbor,

Now, a free service we offer that many of you may not know about is called the "Take Me Home" program. Although this may not have assisted in this prior incident, it has proven to be a successful program.

This is free to any Plano resident who may have a family member who has trouble communicating, whether due to Autism, Down Syndrome, developmental or cognitive disabilities, or even those that don't speak or understand the English language. When we make contact with these individuals, our officers can access the database by their name or even a physical description that was provided on their enrollment record.

You can read more about the program and download the form at http://www.plano.gov/750/Take-Me-Home-Program .After the form is completed, bring the form to the police department located at 909 14th Street and a digital photograph will be taken for the enrolled person.

If you have a loved one or family member who meets the criteria I listed above, I want to encourage you to use this free service. If you have further questions about the program, contact our Crime Prevention Unit at 972-941-2431 or send an email to TakeMeHome@plano.gov
