Earlier this year, CPSH was awarded a local Autism Speaks Grant to develop Home Safety Training for adults with IDD or social challenges who will be transitioning to independent living and their parents. We are delighted that Independent Living Experience is developing the course materials and teaching the first session of this training. Topics for this 12 week session were identified by North Texas parents participating in CPSH community meetings and workshops. They identified safety topics they want their adult children to practice when planning to transition into more independent living. The cost of this training is $100 for parent/guardian and child. This fee is for the full 12 week Home Safety training. The fee will cover expenses for the session that are not covered under the grant. This will be the only safety training available this year.
