On Sunday, 8/23/15, parents and future residents attended the Project Independence family meeting and social. These meetings are held twice a month so that parents can discuss their children moving into more independent living with their friends. During that time the future residents participate together in an activity where they get to know each other better.
At this meeting the parents discussed safety issues they want their children to learn about. The parents also decided that they would ask the future residents what social events they would like to attend as a group in the near future.
Interest is growing in Project Independence. Each meeting is attended by more families.
If you would like to know more about Project Independence, please consider attending the next community meeting, on 9/13/15. Information is here.
