Home Safety Training

CPSH started Home Safety Training in August, 2016.  This 11 week program offers individuals with special needs age 14+ and a parent or guardian lively, interactive sessions on calling 911,  answering the door, stranger danger, and many other safety topics.

CPSH asked parents what were the main concerns about helping their children transition to independent living.  The parents said living safely and knowing how to react to potential safety situations.  These concerns are addressed in the training.

Parent feedback: The safety program is excellent for us and I am letting others know about it.   It was a real stretch to commit to and I’mglad that we did.  My son moves into his own apt in mid October.

CPSH working on plans to offer this training again in Spring 2017.  If you'd like to be notified about upcoming training, please complete the form, here.
